What does KAUUI mean?
KAUUI is derived from the Taiwanese word ‘kàu-uī,’ meaning “reach” in English.
Kàu-uī embodies the concept of “arriving and understanding.” We took the tone marks apart, making it KAUUI to simplify the visual. This name reflects our vision of helping people discover new ways of interacting with the world.
What’s that ? A whale ?
The whale and the colors represent two concepts of traveling: day and night, symbolized by the yellow and turquoise sections; and land and sea, represented by the turquoise parts without the whale’s tail and the whale itself. Additionally, our team is based in Taiwan, where was historically called ‘Whale Island’ due to its geographical shape.

KAUUI’s team members are founder Jo, Co-founder Chiong Xean, and Macs. We believe technology can bring new ways for people to connect and should reduce the barriers to understanding letting people reach each other more easily.
